Volleyball Game Preview: Franklin Knights vs. Mercer Mustangs

The Franklin Knights will face off against the Mercer Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Franklin came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to Slippery Rock. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Rockets: they've now lost four in a row.

Franklin was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Slippery Rock work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-20, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Mercer didn't have quite enough to beat Hickory on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Mercer took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-19, 16-25, 21-25, 25-13, 15-11.

Mercer's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-2. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
