Basketball Game Preview: LeRoy Panthers vs. Flanagan/Woodland Falcons

LeRoy is 9-1 against Flanagan/Woodland since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Falcons at 5:15 p.m. LeRoy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

LeRoy came into this matchup off a tough 26-point loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley by a score of 53-50 on Monday.

Meanwhile, Flanagan/Woodland ended up a good deal behind Roanoke-Benson on Tuesday and lost 47-30. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Rockets recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

LeRoy will have to contain Emma Palaschak as she made an impact in Flanagan/Woodland's last game. She posted 20 points and three steals. Palaschak has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaylei Leininger, who scored seven points.

LeRoy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Flanagan/Woodland, their loss dropped their record down to 11-19.

Everything went LeRoy's way against Flanagan/Woodland when the teams last played back in January, as LeRoy made off with a 63-39 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
