Football Recap: Montezuma-Cortez Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Saturday just wasn't the day for Montezuma-Cortez's offense. They had to suffer through a 58-0 loss at the hands of the Wellington Eagles. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cyle Kisner had an outrageously good game for Wellington as he rushed for 97 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries. Another player making a difference was Tanner Gray, who threw for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes.

Montezuma-Cortez now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Wellington, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Montezuma-Cortez will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Shiprock at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Wellington, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Mountain View at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
