Recap: Winnebago Indians vs. Wakefield Trojans
After losing to the Wakefield Trojans the last time they met, the Winnebago Indians decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Winnebago slipped by Wakefield 43-42 on Tuesday.
Leading Winnebago to victory were Jolon Blackbird and Tressa BigBear. Blackbird scored 14 points along with three steals, while BigBear scored 16 points along with three blocks and two steals. BigBear is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.
Winnebago is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season. As for Wakefield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.
Winnebago will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Santee at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Winnebago focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday. As for Wakefield, they will head out on the road to challenge Lyons-Decatur Northeast on Saturday.
