Gwynn Park posted their closest win since January 23, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-53 victory over the Friendly Patriots. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Despite the loss, Friendly still got an impressive performance from Joel Danquah, who went 8 of 16 to rack up 19 points. That's the most points Danquah has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Roach, who went 5 for 12 en route to 15 points and six boards.

Gwynn Park's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Friendly, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gwynn Park will face off against Potomac at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Gwynn Park's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups. As for Friendly, they will venture away from home to take on Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.1 points per game this season.
