Soccer Game Preview: Oak Lawn vs. Richards

The Oak Lawn Spartans will square off against the Richards Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Oak Lawn's offense. They lost 4-0 to Oak Forest on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Oak Lawn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Oak Forest are ranked 100th).

Meanwhile, Richards also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Reavis on Tuesday, falling 4-0. Richards have struggled against Reavis recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Richards now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Oak Lawn, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8-4.

Oak Lawn suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Richards in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
