Volleyball Game Preview: Highland Cardinals vs. Wauzeka-Steuben Hornets

Highland has gone a perfect 7-0 against Wauzeka-Steuben recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Cardinals will welcome the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Highland sitting on 12 straight wins and Wauzeka-Steuben on eight.

Last Thursday, Highland beat Shullsburg 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 23-25, 25-23, 25-16.

Highland had a senior duo take command as BRINLEIGH BOLLANT had 22 digs and four assists and SUMARYN HALVERSON had eight digs and two aces. BOLLANT is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Meanwhile, Wauzeka-Steuben got the win against Weston on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

Wauzeka-Steuben was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-19, 25-19.

Wauzeka-Steuben's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Highland, their win bumped their record up to 20-4.

Highland was able to grind out a solid victory over Wauzeka-Steuben in their previous matchup back in August, winning 2-0. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
