Softball Preview: Hillcrest Huskies vs. Cyprus Pirates
Hillcrest is 0-10 against Cyprus since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Hillcrest Huskies are on the road again to play the Cyprus Pirates at 3:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hillcrest owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. Everything went their way against Brighton as Hillcrest made off with a 6-0 victory.
Kyli Carrell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out 19 over seven innings pitched. Carrell has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. Carrell was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
