Baseball Recap: Marist Comes Up Short

Marist fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Lake Zurich on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 5-4. The RedHawks just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Brendan Doran was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Carter Pass, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Marist's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Lake Zurich, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marist will face off against Nazareth Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake Zurich, they will square off against Libertyville at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Bears surely won't give up without a fight.
