Rabun County is 8-2 against Oglethorpe County since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Rabun County Wildcats will head out to take on the Oglethorpe County Patriots at 8:00 p.m. Rabun County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Oglethorpe County likes a good challenge.

Rabun County is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Towns County: they outscored them in every quarter. Rabun County blew past Towns County 77-52 on Tuesday. With the Wildcats ahead 40-17 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Rabun County relied on the efforts of Hayes Free, who went 9 of 12 on his way to 21 points along with eight boards and three steals, and Huey Blalock, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Bone, who posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.

Meanwhile, Oglethorpe County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to Providence Christian Academy on the road by a 57-42 margin.

Oglethorpe County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Rabun County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Rabun County couldn't quite finish off Oglethorpe County when the teams last played back in January of 2020 and fell 63-60. Can Rabun County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
