Softball Game Preview: St. Teresa Bulldogs vs. Heyworth Hornets

St. Teresa hasn't had much luck against Heyworth recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Hornets at 4:30 p.m. St. Teresa has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

St. Teresa is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 18th straight game on Saturday. They lost 17-3 to Tolono Unity.

Meanwhile, Heyworth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 8-3 to Mahomet-Seymour.

Heyworth saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Kopp, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Grace Streenz was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

St. Teresa's defeat dropped their record down to 6-23. As for Heyworth, their loss dropped their record down to 9-16.

St. Teresa suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Heyworth when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
