Baseball Recap: Eastern Hancock Takes a Loss

Eastern Hancock extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-4 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Triton Central Tigers. On the bright side, the ten- run effort marked the Royals' highest-scoring contest to date.

Hayden Rouse was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-2. Jalen Helderbrand also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

As for Triton Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2. 11 seems to be a good number for they as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

On Triton Central's side, Nick Riggins was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Riggins has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Sego, who went 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

Coming up, Eastern Hancock will be playing at home against Daleville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Triton Central, they will venture away from home to take on Indianapolis Scecina Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
