Basketball Recap: North Fort Myers Now 13-1 over Last 14 Games

There's no place like home for North Fort Myers, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Estero Wildcats 54-51. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-44 last Tuesday.

Bianca Iten continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Amrey Stockeland, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 11 points.

North Fort Myers smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Estero still got an impressive performance from Amiya Lewis, who went 8 of 16 en route to 26 points and eight rebounds. That was a full 51% of Estero's points, marking the 11th time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of London Woods, who had 13 points and five boards.

North Fort Myers has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.4 points per game. As for Estero, their record now sits at 12-4.

North Fort Myers is taking a road trip to face off against Island Coast at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Estero, they will welcome Naples at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
