Basketball Game Preview: East Gaston Warriors vs. Shelby Golden Lions

East Gaston is 0-10 against Shelby since January of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The East Gaston Warriors will challenge the Shelby Golden Lions at 6:00 p.m.

East Gaston is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game on Tuesday. They were beaten by Bessemer City 67-16.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Shelby ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past Bessemer City 61-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Lions.

Shelby is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for East Gaston, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-19.

East Gaston was dealt a bruising 58-14 loss at the hands of Shelby in their previous matchup back in January. Can East Gaston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
