Basketball Recap: Hamilton Heights Comes Up Short

Hamilton Heights was the 45-39 winner over Westfield when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hamilton Heights Huskies were dealt a 53-14 loss at the hands of the Westfield Shamrocks on Saturday. The matchup marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Hamilton Heights' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Presley Cherry, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Katie Brown, who had four points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Hamilton Heights dropped their record down to 4-13 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Westfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

When Hamilton Heights and Westfield next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Hamilton Heights will try to stop Western's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Westfield will try to stop Hamilton Southeastern's 17-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
