Basketball Recap: West Florida Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when West Florida duked it out withBooker T. Washington on Tuesday. The matchup between the West Florida Jaguars and the Booker T. Washington Wildcats didn't end well, with the West Florida Jaguars falling 60-44. The loss continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the loss, West Florida still got an impressive performance from Brayden Justice, who went 8 of 16 en route to 25 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. With that strong performance, Justice is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakobe Fairley, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Booker T. Washington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adam Griffin, who put up eight points. Dwayne Francis was another key player, putting up six points and five assists.

West Florida's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Booker T. Washington, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

West Florida wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-65 victory against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy on the 11th. As for Booker T. Washington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-48 win against Escambia on the 9th.
