Basketball Recap: Scammon Bay Comes Up Short

Scammon Bay and Skagway squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Scammon Bay had to settle for second. They came up short against the Skagway Panthers, falling 71-47. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 24 points.

It was another big night for Royce Borst, who shot 46% from the field en route to 25 points along with seven boards and four steals for Skagway. Borst's big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Camden Lawson, who went 6-for-8 on his way to 15 points and five assists.

Scammon Bay has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-9 record this season. Skagway is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Scammon Bay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Skagway, they have already played their next contest, a 53-40 win against Buckland on the 14th.
