Alcoa hadn't done well against Oak Ridge recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. It was close, but the Alcoa Tornadoes ultimately received the gift of a 69-67 win from a begrudging Tornadoes squad. The victory was nothing new for they as they're now sitting on three straight.

Alcoa has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Oak Ridge, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.

Alcoa and Oak Ridge should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Alcoa (ranked 64th) will meet Choctawhatchee (ranked 323rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Oak Ridge will challenge Rossview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 215 places (29 vs. 244).
