Football Recap: Orcutt Academy Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Orcutt Academy's offense. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Valley Christian Academy Lions. Having soared to a lofty 62 points in the game before, the Spartans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Even if they lost, Orcutt Academy's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Emilio Ferreira, Benjamin Larrabee, and David Sharrett, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Orcutt Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Valley Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Orcutt Academy has already played their next matchup, a 54-48 win against Cate on the 27th. As for Valley Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 67-6 victory against San Luis Obispo Classical Academy on the 25th.
