Softball Preview: Timnath Cubs vs. Wellington Eagles        
        
		
             Timnath is 0-3 against Wellington since August of 2022 but things could change  on Saturday. The Timnath Cubs will challenge the Wellington Eagles at 11:00  a.m.
 Timnath and Northridge faced off in a Battle of the Bears  on Thursday. Timnath came up short against  Northridge, falling  13-1. The Cubs' defeat continues a  trend for the  team, making it four in a row.
 Timnath saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Lily Miller, who  went 1-for-2 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better  (just ask Wellington). They never let Greeley Central onto the board and left with  a   20-0  win  on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won ten matches by seven  runs or more  so far this season.
  Kensley Story was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Story was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Reganne Johnson was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Charley Somday, who  scored three  runs while going 3-for-3.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Wellington  lost a few balls and  finished the game with five  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
 Timnath's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Wellington, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won 11 of their last 14 games,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record  this season.
 Saturday's   contest will be a test for both team's pitchers. Timnath hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of 0. However, it's not like Wellington struggles in that department as   they've  averaged 0. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Timnath suffered a grim  15-0 defeat to Wellington  when the teams last played  back in September. Can Timnath avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
