Basketball Game Preview: East Hall Vikings vs. Jefferson Dragons

The East Hall Vikings will square off against the Jefferson Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

East Hall is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Holy Innocents Episcopal just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They were dealt an 86-38 loss at the hands of the Golden Bears. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Jefferson had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They secured a 46-41 W over the Purple Hurricanes. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Purple Hurricanes are ranked 345th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jefferson has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for East Hall, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-4.

East Hall barely slipped by Jefferson when the teams last played back in January, winning 57-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Hall since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
