Basketball Recap: Laney Buccaneers vs. Myers Park Mustangs
The Laney Buccaneers came up short against the Myers Park Mustangs on Saturday and fell 72-65. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Laney still got an impressive performance from Kareem Anderson, who shot 52% from the field to rack up 31 points and three steals. Anderson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Lamb, who posted 15 points and seven rebounds.
Myers Park found their leader in sophomore Ayo Awosanya, who dropped a double-double with 30 points and ten boards. Awosanya is becoming a predictor of the Mustangs' success: when he posts at least 20 points the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Mack Walters was another key player, putting up 13 points and six rebounds.
Laney's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Myers Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.
Laney has already played their next contest, an 83-55 win against Swansboro on the 9th. As for Myers Park, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 88-57 defeat against Marvin Ridge on the 9th.
