Volleyball Recap: Bradford Comes Up Short

If Bradford was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Tri-County North on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Railroaders fell just short of the Franklin Monroe Jets by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Railroaders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Jets earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Bradford sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 22-25, 25-24, 22-25, 16-14.

Addy Mills paced Bradford's offense, picking up nine kills. Mills got some help from Chloe Hocker and her 26 assists. Hocker was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Bradford dropped their record down to 4-11 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Franklin Monroe, their victory bumped their record up to 3-11.

Bradford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Cedarville on the 22nd. As for Franklin Monroe, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Bethel on the 20th.
