Kadie Bare made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Bare was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Calie Smith and Addy Antonetz did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Antonetz went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Kaley Meddings was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
West Muskingum always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
West Muskingum's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. Maysville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Muskingum has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.2 hits per game.
