Basketball Game Preview: Sheridan Generals vs. Waterford Wildcats

The Sheridan Generals and the Waterford Wildcats will round out the year against one another at at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Sheridan's defense has only allowed 29.7 points per game this season, so Waterford's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Sheridan will head into Friday's contest eager for some revenge after what happened against Fairfield Union: Sheridan blew Fairfield Union out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Fairfield Union got their revenge. Sheridan fell just short of Fairfield Union by a score of 39-36. That makes it the first time this season the Generals have let down their home crowd.

Meanwhile, Waterford put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past South Gallia with points to spare, taking the game 46-29. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Rebels are ranked 229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Waterford's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points per game. As for Sheridan, their loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.
