Softball Recap: Ezekiel Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Ezekiel Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Hooper Academy Colts. While the Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 15-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The team relied heavily on Addie Newell, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Ezekiel Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Ezekiel Academy will face off against Tuscaloosa Home Educators at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ezekiel Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season. Hooper Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fort Dale Academy at 5:30 p.m. on March 31st.
