Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Tanque Verde

Tanque Verde extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping them up to 27-5. They never let the Show Low Cougars get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Give the Hawks' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Show Low's batters probably weren't too happy with Claire Achilles, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (she gave up two walks). Achilles has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Cantalicio, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2025.

Tanque Verde hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive contests.

As for Show Low, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 28-5. They were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but Tanque Verde's pitcher proved too tough.

On Show Low's side, Addi Clark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits.

Coming up, Tanque Verde will head out to square off against Empire at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ravens have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season. Show Low does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
