Softball Recap: Belle Vernon Comes Up Short

Belle Vernon managed to slip by Elizabeth Forward the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Leopards lost 12-2 to the Warriors on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Leopards have suffered since April 24, 2024.

Belle Vernon has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Elizabeth Forward, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Belle Vernon will challenge rival Laurel Highlands at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Forward is set to take on their familiar foe West Mifflin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 2.7, the Titans 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
