Volleyball Game Preview: Escondido Cougars vs. Canyon Crest Academy Ravens + Official Tickets

After both having extra time off, the Escondido Cougars and the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Escondido has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Canyon Crest Academy will arrive with five straight wins.

Escondido managed to slip by Vista the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cougars lost 3-0 to the Panthers on Thursday.

El Camino came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Canyon Crest Academy, but Jaz Damineni wouldn't allow it. The Ravens came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats on Thursday, sneaking past 3-2 thanks in part to Damineni, who had six aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Canyon Crest Academy wouldn't go down easily and took El Camino into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-14, 25-22, 21-25, 15-9.

Canyon Crest Academy's victory bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Escondido, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-15.

Escondido came up short against Canyon Crest Academy when the teams last played on Tuesday, falling 3-1. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
