Softball Recap: Ponder Comes Up Short

After soaring to 16 runs the game before, Ponder was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell 5-1 to the Boyd Yellowjackets. The Lions have struggled against the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Ponder saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Wells, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Ponder's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Boyd, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 18-3-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Ponder Lions duke it out with Callisburg Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ponder is facing Callisburg at the right time seeing as Callisburg is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Boyd, they will head out on the road to square off against Paradise at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Boyd 2.8, Paradise 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
