The Hillsdale Fighting Knights will face off against the King's Academy Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Hillsdale is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Woodside with a sharp 12-2 win on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Fighting Knights considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Lola Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Taylor O'Mahony was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Shelton, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Hillsdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, King's Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They never let the Bearcats get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The Knights not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11th (when they won 11-0).
The result came thanks to Katia Nesper's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks.
At the plate, Ava Thompson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sophie Giles, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Hillsdale is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for King's Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.
