Baseball Recap: Piute Starts off Right with Win over Wayne

Piute had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Wayne Badgers with a sharp 16-3 win. The Thunderbirds haven't had any issues with the Badgers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Braige Millett was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in August of 2024. Another player making a difference was Pendleton Bowler, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

Piute always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wayne only posted an OBP of .280.

Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
