Baseball Game Preview: Delbarton Green Wave vs. Parsippany Redhawks

The Delbarton Green Wave will challenge the Parsippany Redhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Delbarton 3.5, Parsippany 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Parsippany will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Delbarton extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday. The Green Wave put the hurt on Millburn with a sharp 12-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Green Wave, who have now won four contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Parsippany might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-1 to Warren Hills Regional, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Redhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Parsippany saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryan Sunga, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Delbarton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Parsippany, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Everything went Delbarton's way against Parsippany in their previous meeting back in April of 2017, as Delbarton made off with a 7-0 win. Do the Green Wave have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
