Baseball Recap: Northridge Grizzlies vs. Mountain View Mountain Lions

Northridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 12-6 to the Mountain View Mountain Lions. Northridge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mountain View apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April.

Lincoln Lyons was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Lyons has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't pitched less than five innings in five consecutive pitching appearances. Lyons was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Diego Mondragon and Damian Alvarez did some serious damage despite the final result: Mondragon scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Alvarez scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
