Baseball Recap: Serena Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Serena was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They came up short against the St. Francis Spartans, falling 11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Huskers have suffered since March 25th.

Serena saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beau Raikes, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

With the defeat, Serena broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-11. As for St. Francis, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Serena will square off against Newark at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Francis, they will face off against Naperville North at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
