Volleyball Recap: Westwood Redhawks vs. St. James Sharks
With a playoff game on the line, Westwood rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the St. James Sharks as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Redhawks are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 16 straight.
Westwood never let St. James on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-11, 25-19.
Camryn Jeffery paced Westwood's offense, picking up 22 kills. Jeffery got some help from
Lilly Almada and her 21 assists. Finally, Jeffery was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high nine blocks.
Westwood pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. As for St. James, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.
