Softball Recap: Fort Lauderdale Has No Trouble Against Nova

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Western, Fort Lauderdale was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Nova Titans 19-5. That looming 19-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Flying L's yet this season.

Kylie Keenan made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Tannar Keenan was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Quinn McFadden was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Fort Lauderdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nova only posted an OBP of .320.

Fort Lauderdale has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. Nova is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Lauderdale will host McArthur at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Nova, they will take on Chaminade-Madonna at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
