Basketball Game Preview: Grayson County Blue Devils vs. Marion Scarlet Hurricanes

Grayson County hasn't had much luck against Marion recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Grayson County Blue Devils just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Marion Scarlet Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Grayson County beat Chilhowie 60-55. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Meanwhile, Marion got the win against Richlands on Tuesday by a conclusive 55-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Scarlet Hurricanes have posted against the Blue Tornado since February 8, 2022.

Grayson County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Marion, they pushed their record up to 6-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Grayson County took a serious blow against Marion when the teams last played back in January of 2020, falling 52-23. Can Grayson County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
