Baseball Recap: Lamar Christian Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

While Lamar Christian's win against Newton County Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Generals 11-10 on Thursday. That's the fifth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 6-0 win on Thursday.

Jackson McCrory and Kolton Buie did most of the damage at the plate: McCrory went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Buie went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave McCrory a new career-high. DJ Parhm was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lamar Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Lamar Christian's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Newton County Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-12.

Lamar Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-7 defeat against Prairie View Academy on the 6th. Newton County Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
