Softball Recap: American Leadership Academy Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, American Leadership Academy finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They lost 22-0 to the Providence Hall Patriots. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

American Leadership Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackie Huff, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

American Leadership Academy's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-6. As for Providence Hall, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American Leadership Academy will welcome Juan Diego Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Soaring Eagle have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season. As for Providence Hall, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Judge Memorial Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.14 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
