Softball Recap: Sugar-Salem Sets Scoring Season-High Against Snake River

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sugar-Salem). Everything went their way against the Snake River Panthers on Tuesday as Sugar-Salem made off with a 19-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Diggers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Kambry Bartholick, who scored three runs and stole two bases. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaidyn Hirschi, who scored two runs and stole a base.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-2. As for Snake River, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sugar-Salem will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Marsh Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sugar-Salem is facing Marsh Valley at the right time seeing as Marsh Valley is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Snake River, they will welcome Bear Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest will give Snake River their first taste of in-conference action this season.
