Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for New Site

New Site proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by seven) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Falkner Eagles 4-3. While the Royals didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Jayden Greene made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rilyn Lambert, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

The win was the third in a row for New Site, bringing their record for this year to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Falkner, they dropped their record down to 5-3 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Site will host Bruce at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Site is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Falkner, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Middleton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Falkner also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 7.8 runs per game.
