After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Norfolk Academy, St. Catherine was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Saint Gertrude Gators 2-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given St. Catherine's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Saint Gertrude are ranked 31st).

Alice Kidd was the driving force of St. Catherine's attack as she scored both of St. Catherine's goals, bringing her season total up to four goals.

St. Catherine's moved to 5-8-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Saint Gertrude, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4-4.

Looking ahead, St. Catherine's will head out on the road to face off against Collegiate at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Collegiate will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something St. Catherine's surely won't give up without a fight. Saint Gertrude does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
