Recap: Juanita Ravens vs. Mercer Island Islanders
The Juanita Ravens were the 66-62 winner over the Mercer Island Islanders when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Juanita ended up on the wrong side of a tough 70-46 walloping at the hands of Mercer Island on Wednesday. Juanita has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Caitlin Monahan was a one-man wrecking crew for Mercer Island as she dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. The matchup was Monahan's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Mock, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Juanita now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Mercer Island, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Juanita will challenge Interlake at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mercer Island, they will head out on the road to face off against Hazen at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Hazen is ranked 28th, while Mercer Island is ranked 12th).
