Jupiter had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Leonard Lancers 12-1 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Conner Sorge looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Ryan Senecal and Griffin Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Senecal went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Miller went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Miller continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Schwarz, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
The victory (which was Jupiter's fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Leonard, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
