Baseball Recap: Eastern Lebanon County Has No Trouble Against Garden Spot

Eastern Lebanon County hadn't done well against Garden Spot recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Raiders have posted against the Spartans since May 4, 2022.

Braden Gettle was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Sam Bechtel, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Eastern Lebanon County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Garden Spot, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Coming up, Eastern Lebanon County will welcome Manheim Central at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Garden Spot, they will head out on the road to square off against Octorara Area at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
