It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but South Sevier had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They put the hurt on the North Sevier Wolves with a sharp 25-5 win. Considering the Rams have won 15 matchups by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Kameron Hessey made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
In other batting news, South Sevier let Kanyon Okerlund and Peyton Ingram run wild. Okerlund went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Ingram got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Ingram has posted since back in April of 2024. Brace Brindley was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

As for North Sevier, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
South Sevier will face off against Kanab at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday. The Cowboys will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Sevier, they will challenge Millard at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.33 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
