St. Helena extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. They came out on top against the Lower Lake Trojans by a score of 31-22. The Saints have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

Julian Earls had a dynamite game, rushing for 79 yards and one score, while also throwing for 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes. St. Helena also got a significant boost from Eric Torres, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.

St. Helena didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Lower Lake to a completion percentage of just 40%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Dean Sommer and Latif Basile, who each logged one passes deflected. Given Earls' standout performance, it's clear Lower Lake's secondary just wasn't on the same level.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lower Lake fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

When it comes to explaining why Lower Lake lost, don't look at Ashton Hartmann. Despite the final result, he threw for 119 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 39 yards.
