Volleyball Recap: Roxana Shells vs. Gibault Catholic Hawks
Roxana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gibault Catholic Hawks. The Shells were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-14.
Josie Brannon paced Roxana's offense, picking up six kills. Brannon got some help from Daisy Daugherty and her nine assists. Finally, Brannon was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.
Gibault Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was AUBRY THOMAS out in front who had ten digs.
Roxana's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Gibault Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Roxana didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Freeburg on the 2nd. As for Gibault Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against East St. Louis on the 1st.
