El Segundo came tearing into Wednesday's match with 13 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the South Spartans by a score of 8-5. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jacy Lindsay spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Charli Pages, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marilyn McCaverty, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

El Segundo's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for South, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10.

El Segundo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-5 defeat against Moorpark on the 18th. As for South, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Torrance on the 18th.
